. I wish I was in chandler - we could have a support group for babies that want to be held 24/7
im reading the No Cry Sleep Solution. just skip to the section on strategies for newborns. these strategies will help you over the next few weeks... but honestly i think that the inital month is bootcamp (if your baby is like mine which i suspect she is!) it's all grit ans by the grace of God you get through it. my mom was reminding me of something i apparently said during those first weeks and i realized that not only did i not remember what she was talking about.... literally everything was a blur. and tht was only two months there actual studies that show that being that fatigued is similar to being drunk in many ways (reaction time, decision making) and im sure that's why i dont remember much. either that ir because God erased my memory for me out of mercy (perhaps so ni wouldnt resent my innocent little baby!)

excerpt: An email to Dennis and Lili
William has his first cold so I'm up helping the poor guy out and brousing the Internet somewhat aimlessly. But Will is basically asleep. So that's good. I just keep having to rock him a little in his car seat when he makes adorable little stuffy baby noises. At one point he was hysterical laughing in his sleep. It was SO CUTE (and made me wonder if he's crazy like his mama.) He's sleeping With his favorite car seat insert that I'm not sure we would have survived without. Thanks Clark!o

I crack myself up!
Two of my funniest texts from today
To Dom: He's been chugging all day followed by super intense naps. I tried to play with him a few times and he was cool for about two minutes and then chugged like a mini frat boy pledging!!
To Lili: Some progress! Non linear but progress!! I'm very happy! My new baseline for adequate sleep has adjusted and I'm good with less! Perhaps not as quick witted and charming, so good thing I have charm to spare 😂how was your weekend??

My friends - a midnight prayer
Time: Midnight
Lord thank you for my friends. They have encouraged me, sustained me, empowered me, commiserated with me, and celebrated with me. Thank you especially for my best friend, my husband. Thank you for my mommy friends who have given me all the advice, books, tips, and love. Especially Aisha, Julie, Lili, and Sarah. And my non-mommy friends especially Liz, Hannah, Blair, Mollie*, and Danielle.
Tonight, Lord, I want to ask you to especially bless my new friend, Emily. Moving to Winston Salem was so scary and she has been and incredible source of joy for me here. Even though she's so busy, she makes time for me and is so compassionate. Emily has been Incredibly down to earth - always telling it like it is. And she is SO generous. Emily brought me food and really sweet presents when William came early and we knew no one down here in WS. Then when William has sleep problems she helped trouble shoot with me, had me over her house and listened to me, and even gave me a Halo sleep sack. I tried the sleep sack this evening and it worked like a charm. God definitely sent me Emily. She doesn't have the link to my blog... and I guess I'll have to leave it that way for now because I wrote this mushy post and I don't want to freak her out. It's just I really don't know anyone here and I'm so greatful that God sent me a friend. Tonight, thank you Lord for Emily's friendship, Amen
