Must have baby things. My list to send to new-mom friends

Before baby is born: go online and watch/practice infant CPR and Heimlich (once the baby is born it might be kinda stressful to learn these!)

Lanolin cream
Nursing bras
Nursing tanks 2
Soft wrap (also called a sling. It's a long piece of fabric. Some people buy the moby (spelling) wrap
Simple wishes pumping bra
Electric breast pump
Bottles.
Pascifiers for emergency
Big diaper bag
Playpen with bassinet - mattress (and fitted sheet) for this is an awesome bonus
Velcro swaddles (from swaddle me)
Newborn hats and pajama "sleepers"
Portable container for wipes
Old fashion white cloth diapers are super handy when changing a little boy or to use as burp cloths because they are absorbent
People will give you blankets so don't register (you'll need the blankets!)
Infant car seat that hasn't expired.
DESITIN you need this
Wipes and diapers from Cosco (size 1)
Baby Tylenol and thermometer. These are critical
Get your pediatrician to prescribe vitamin d drops if you're breastfeeding

Things I like having:
Changing table
I'm sure we will use the crib even more in a few months   Ideally from 2011 or later because of safety codes
Baby gym
People swear by the swing.
Night lights so I don't trip while holding the baby in the dark. You need to keep it dark at night so the baby learns to sleep in the evening.
People swear by bouncers (inclined chairs that bounce when the baby moves)
A rattle that makes a decent shaking noise
Wall stickers for nursery for easy and beautiful decorating
People got us baby books and we love them. I don't think you have to register for thi
I hear you must have a nose frida. I haven't used mine yet because will hasn't been sick yet

You might think this is cheesy but I've watched a million nursing videos and this one is the best. I wish I had memorized it before going to the hospital https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=OUqRVSeBpY8
Also read this article on infant sleep. The strategies really help take the edge off. http://purplecrying.info/sleeping.php

Also I didn't realize that the bottles comes with nipples that are different levels. Make sure you use the level appropriate for your baby. So slower flow for a little guy. And don't give the baby a bottle until your baby has mastered breastfeeding to avoid nipple confusion. Once he's a breastfeeding champ, you can have dad feed the baby a bottle so you can sleep for a few hours in a row (life changing)
